Superfood and You

Superfood is a general term (as opposed to a scientific term) that refers to food with a high nutrient, antioxidant, or phytochemical content and relatively few calories. These foods are essentially the opposite of “empty calorie” foods, which are high in calories and provide few nutrients.

“Superfoods” are becoming increasingly available ingredients at grocery stores and are even popping up in pre packaged bars, drinks and baked goods.
