My passion is to guide people - youth and adults - on a journey to a healthier lifestyle while gaining strength and confidence. I am dedicated to helping others reach their goals and feel accomplished. My teaching experience began in college teaching children how to swim; first time swimmers to competitive athletes. With Parisi Speed School at Body Kinetics I now get to help young athletes gain the skills they need to be the best athlete they can be. Nothing is as personally gratifying as watching a student master a skill you have taught them. Growing up, I loved competitive swimming, volleyball, and basketball. As a trainer, my real passion lies in strength training and helping others find beauty in their strength.
After assessing my client’s needs and goals, I create a personalized and safe program for each individual that allows for proper progression. You will gain strength, flexibility, balance, good posture, and most importantly you will feel good from the inside out!
“It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.” – Socrates
“I've struggled with obesity for several years now. I've had minor success, but never with any consistency. Kayla helped changed that. Her positive attitude, infectious optimism, and in depth knowledge helped set me on the right track. I felt like she went out of her way to ensure I had the support I needed to make healthy lifestyle changes for me. After 10 sessions, I've lost 20+ lbs and feel confident that I can maintain a proper diet and fun, effective gym routine to meet my goals.”
A lifelong athlete, competitive water skier and fitness enthusiast, I utilize my certifications with NASM, ACE & TRX to teach Functional Training. You will learn movements that apply to acts of daily living - improving stability, balance, flexibility, strength and endurance for performance enhancement and injury prevention. I also hold a specialty certification in Corrective Exercise to help clients cope with impairments and recover from injuries. I will train you to have the physical ability to do what you want, when you want to do it.
We will work together to set goals with a realistic time frame. Using the NASM Optimum Performance Training model, I will design and implement a training program that is specifically tailored to achieve your goals faster than you can on your own. We will monitor your progress and as you continue to reach new levels of fitness, I will make progressions in your program to keep the workouts fresh, fun and challenging. I will guide and motivate you to reach the fitness level you desire!
“Frank has been the most extraordinary resource I have had the pleasure to work with. His expertise and dedication are truly a rare and valuable asset that he shares without hesitation. Frank also listens and takes time to understand what my position, goals and limits are. He then creates a workout plan that respects my current level, pushes me to my goals and does so in a safe and effective manner. This has increased my confidence in my workout and increased my enthusiasm for going to the gym, which also means I have much more positive energy throughout my life. Plus he is just a great guy with a great sense of humor and we have a lot of fun working together.
Frank is an essential part of my wellness team and I can attest that both my cardiologist and G.P. are absolutely astounded at the progress I am making and that progress is directly attributable to the effort Frank has provided. With Frank's help I am not just getting well, I am getting healthy and improving all aspects of my physical well being.
Chris is extremely passionate about health and longevity and is continually learning and expanding his knowledge to help improve the lives of others. Rather than advocating a specific training philosophy, Chris believes that remaining open minded while maintaining a strong thirst for new information is one of the best attributes a trainer can have. This conviction has helped Chris to become a very well rounded trainer who is comfortable working with all types of individuals with different goals and needs.
Chris takes a multi-faceted approach to health and wellbeing by addressing areas such as nutrition, sleep, hydration, productivity and stress, in addition physical fitness. Together you will create a plan for wellness by formulating concrete achievable goals in all of these areas. He will administer movement and postural assessments to test for muscle imbalances and create a customized flexibility and workout regimen that will progressively adapt as you adapt.
“Working with Chris has been absolutely invaluable and I can safely say I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for his guidance, knowledge and support. He is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to exercise science, a skilled teacher; and extremely motivating. He possesses an apt finesse for pushing me outside of my comfort zone but not beyond my ability level.”
Through extensive training, I have proudly devoted my time over the past 6 years to a profession that sparks an utmost ambition to help people adapt to a healthy lifestyle. My certifications with NSCA, NASM, CPT, and in CPR have allowed me to expand my experience in diverse ways. I specialize in various levels of fitness and physical needs including neurological recovery and physical therapy.
My experience over the years have helped me gain the ability to work with a wide range of clientele which continuously broadens my skills. I began my career at Lifelong Fitness in Kaysville, Utah where I was able to focus on both nutrition and detailed exercise programs for each individual client. I was able to successfully apply these important capabilities to my future positions in Marin County, California at Meridian Body in Motion and Body Kinetics where I am currently employed. Here I have not only increased my knowledge in joints, knees, shoulders, back, and nutrition through the Body Kinetics Continued Education program, but also extended my profession to in home training and working with kids at the Marin Country Club’s Summer Camp Fitness. I continue to cherish my career and personalize my programs to separately fit each individual and their specific needs. I will stop at nothing to ensure that my clients will fulfill their goals and beyond in order to live a long, happy and healthy lifestyle.
“Having had Knee surgery October 2014, I now have full range of motion due to the work my trainer, Lisa and I have done. I need to have my left knee replaced but I’ve been able to put it off a little longer as a result of the work we have done to strengthen the muscles around both knees. Lisa works my legs twice a week, we do a circuit on leg machines along with free weights machines as well. In addition to my leg workout we do core strength training which has helped with my balance. It is important to find a trainer who motivates you and to whom you can relate to. This person can help you want to come to the gym and will encourage you to stay with your program.”
A self proclaimed science nerd, i never in a million years thought that i would end up in the fitness industry, much less become a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. After having used every excuse in the book to get out of P.E. class as a young girl, my first truly athletic experience was when i was convinced to join the Marin Rowing Association while attending Redwood High School. As a novice rower i was introduced to aggressive strength training and cardiovascular conditioning. This changed everything. Not just my physique. I quickly realized that building a strong body made me feel mentally and emotionally strong as well…I wanted to be able to share this with as many people as possible!
While pursuing my education in exercise physiology and psychology I decided to earn my personal training and spinning certifications. Helping people feel good about themselves and their bodies is a passion of mine that only grows with time, experience and education.
Personal training and group exercise has never been about the money for me. My goal is not to book as many clients as possible, on the contrary i prefer to have a smaller base of clients each of whom i genuinely care about helping. Over the course of the past 12 years i have worked with hundreds of amazing people of all ages and athletic abilities, many of whom battle injuries and chronic conditions. Through hard work, dedication, and a specific individual plan i would be honored to help you reach your fitness goals!
“I am starting my eighth year training with Erin Shea. I train with Erin, on average, three to four days a week. When I started my training with Erin, I had been working out on my own for a couple of years without much success. Four months after beginning my training with Erin, I had lost 25 pounds and was in much better all around shape. Erin's attention to form & technique has allowed me to avoid any training injuries over the last seven years. Today, at age sixty two, I am in much better shape than at any time in my life. The key for me to getting fit and maintaining fitness is to make fitness a priority part of my daily routine. Having a well qualified, knowledgable and personable personal trainer waiting for me each morning is critical to staying true to my training schedule.”
Marquis is a former Division 1 football player at the University of Arizona who has a passion for fitness, education, and helping others. As a youth he was always active and involved in sports as well as various other activities. His time and energy spent in sports translated directly onto the field. He excelled in football and received a full ride scholarship to play Defensive back at the U of A, where he stared on defense and led the team in interceptions as a senior. Upon entering college with an eager and hungry mind set, he gravitated towards strength training and quickly fell in love with it. After a short stint with the Chicago Bears of the NFL, Marquis closed the chapter of his football career and geared his attention towards athletic training and helping others reach their highest fitness potential. He began interning at the University of Arizona where NFL players would return to campus in the offseason to train and sharpen their skills. Soon after, he moved back to California where he would start to do more one-on-one training.
Marquis’s approach as a trainer is to create a program that progresses in intensity, and gradually push you out of your comfort zone. When it comes to getting in shape, mental strength is just as important as physical strength. Mentality in the gym can easily be translated to real life. The primary ingredient you need is the desire to succeed
"Marquis is the ultimate trainer. The strides I’ve made in self-improvement wouldn’t have been possible without our training sessions. I simply don’t ever get as good a workout on my own as I do during a session. Marquis has a tremendous talent for motivation. He knows when it’s time to get in my face and push me; he knows when it’s time to be positive and build me up. It’s a crucial skill in a trainer and Marquis has it in spades. On the technical side, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience built upon years of the elite training that athletes receive in a Division I football program, but he also brings that same standard. Lackluster form is unacceptable. Precision of movement, and focused engagement of muscles, are required. It’s premier training, from a premier trainer. And yes, he’s a Lakers fan, but nobody’s perfect."

"Jonell has inspired me to push past my limits, and go much further than I ever thought I could. After almost a year of working together, I see marked results, and feel so strong. Her great sense of humor eggs me on when I would like to stop. I used to drag myself to the gym, and now I reschedule everything so I won't miss my time with her. Thank you Jonell for keeping me young and fit.” - Marcia

"I came to Ashley, having been out of the gym for a year due to a couple of injuries and surgeries. To be honest, I did not know her, but she was highly recommended. After I told her my goals of getting back into shape to continue surfing and cycling, her instant grasp of my training needs convinced me to do an initial session with her.
She was so obviously attuned to what and how I needed to work, I immediately signed up for 10 sessions (and will do so again). Ashley designed a routine for core strengtheing, upper and lower body rehab (wrists, knee and ankles), and all around muscle building, (a work in progress). Her grasp of physiology and anatomy was obvious.
Through stretches, squats, compression bands, and other work, (much more than I can describe here), I've steadily gained strength, lost weight and have found regained confidence in my other sports. It's been a life-changer for me.
She's also funny, which is an incomparable quality, when she's torturing me to work in a few more reps. I'll continue training with her for as long as I can. Ashley, thanks for the motivation and the revived outlook on what I can do!"
I began teaching yoga in 2004 and started training one on one shortly thereafter. I have a deep passion for the health that inevitably arises from properly aligned, conscious movement. My passion is expressed by sharing these methods of exercise with others. Nothing gives me a greater sense of gratitude or accomplishment than when people express what a difference it has made in their lives.

As we ate working toward your specific goals, don't be surprised if you find yourself enjoying a balance of health, happiness and harmony.
“My life has been transformed since I began taking Daniel's classes a few years ago. I decided to do some private sessions as well to cover some things we don't always do in class. Daniel's enthusiasm is truly contagious!”
