Your resting heart rate is often a good determination of your level of fitness.  It can also indicate whether you're over-training or feeling under the weather by showing up as an unexplained increase in resting heart rate. When using your heart rate monitor, be sure that there is a good connection between the chest strap and your chest. There needs to be an adequate connection between the transmitter (belt/chest strap), and the receiver (watch) by placing water on the chest strap.
